Our Mission

Local beekeepers don't have it easy. From colony losses and mite control to unfair competition from adulterated honey, beekeeping takes grit and dedication. Beekeepers are vital to this country's agriculture and economy, and I want to help them in any way I can.
My mission for Honey Near You is to play a small part in helping beekeepers earn more from their honey. We do this by making it easy for honey customers to find local beekeepers. My long-term vision is to create a marketplace where customers can buy honey directly from their local beekeeper, and their beekeeper can easily fulfill orders. Think Etsy, but just for local honey.
But to be completely transparent, my life is busy right now. My wife and I just had our third child, and I work a full-time day job while growing Sperry Honey and building websites for beekeepers. So, I started with a simple directory and plan to turn it into a full-fledged marketplace in the future. That way, customers can still find and contact their local beekeeper to buy honey.
How can you help move this mission along? By contacting me with any updates! I'm currently a one-man operation keeping tabs on thousands of beekeepers, so any help is appreciated. Also, if you're a beekeeper who needs a new website, hire me! As I grow my website agency, I'll be able to hire help, freeing me up to focus on building the actual marketplace.
